Oh, Joe: Biden Says Geese Are Safer Than Children
Pen has been put to paper and finger to keys many a time about the affluence that former Vice President Joe Biden has for gaffes. He has numerously been called the “gaffe king,” as a result. Back in the day, it was nearly an endearing quality of the man. It made him real to America, proving that he wasn’t perfect like every other politician pretended to be.
But now, it’s an entirely different story. Now, it leaves us concerned. Very concerned. Here we have a man who is running to be the President of the United States of America, and he can’t even get his own position right. A president is not supposed to be perfect; after all, they are human. However, someone with that amount of power is to be held to a much higher standard than the rest of us. They are to be prided on their possession of a sound mind and well thought out words as well as actions.
Biden’s mistakes prove that he may no longer have this quality. But this last one might actually speak some truth, even if it is riddled with errors.
This week his claim not only shows just how ignorant he is but also how far even the moderate democrats have come to push a leftist agenda.
He made a campaign stop this past week in Concord, New Hampshire, where he savagely attacked the use of a gun magazine that has never existed. But in addition, he claims that geese are safer than our children.
The man proclaimed that “nobody says you can have a round – a magazine with a hundred clips in it, a hundred bullets in it.”
And he continued, “We protect geese more than we protect … no joke, you can only have three, three shotgun shells when you go shootin’ for geese. We protect geese better than we protect our kids.”
It’s hard to even know where to start with this. So let’s dissect this a bit and see if there is any truth in these statements at all.
Firstly, he says, “nobody says you can have…” This is correct, at least in some fashion. Because our government is one that is by and for the people, it was created to serve the people’s best interest, not the governments. It does not limit our nation or have the authority to dictate to us about what we can and cannot have. Nobody says we can have 100-round magazines because there is nobody with that amount of power over us. The only limitation is on what the government can and cannot do, just how it should be.
Secondly, “a magazine with a hundred clips” has never existed. Biden can go on and tell us that these are banned and that he was the one that went toe to toe with the NRA to have them banned all he wants. But the fact is that there simply is no such thing, even if he did later correct himself.
But let’s get to Biden’s real argument here, that “we protect geese better than we protect our kids.”
In its most literal sense, he is definitely wrong. Shooting geese is entirely legal. Using a gun on children is most definitely not.
However, there is another way to look at this. And in this sense, Biden is utterly correct. To go hunting for geese, a person must obtain first a permit or hunting license that is specific to geese or waterfowl. But thanks to progressives who legalized abortion, all one has to do to kill off a child is to head to the nearest women’s health clinic. There is no permit to obtain, or even a mental health test taken to decide if the woman is in her right mind when such a decision is made.
Geese are safer in another way, as well. Biden was right when he said there are limits to the number of geese you can shoot. Depending on the area you are hunting, each person has a personal limit. You can only shoot a certain amount of birds of any particular species.
With abortion, there is no law, federal or otherwise, that puts a limit on the number of abortions a woman can have or how many babies will die at the hands of doctors pulling them apart.
Biden’s gaffes prove he won’t win, but they also show that Democrats are blind to the truth of their damage.
