Trump Walks Out on Democrats
In what was supposed to be a meeting about a $2 trillion infrastructure plan, turned out to be an all-out attack from Democrats with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi leading the charge.
President Trump had every right to walk out on them in the meeting because he was there to do business for the country, and the Democrats were there to find a way to get rid of Trump through impeachment, so he does not expose everything they are doing and ruin their plans.
Pelosi told reporters after the president left abruptly, “For some reason, maybe it was lack of confidence on his part that he really couldn’t match the greatness of the challenge that we have . . . he just took a pass, and it just makes me wonder why he did. In any event, I pray for the president of the United States, and I pray for the United States of America. Democrats had a very productive meeting, and we will stay the course of the investigations. We do believe that it’s important to follow the facts,” she said. “We believe that no one is above the law, including the president of the United States. And we believe the president of the United States is engaged in a cover-up.”
Trump appeared in the Rose Garden for an unscheduled and told what happened as he was expecting to go into a hopeful meeting on the $2 trillion infrastructure plan.
He told the reporters, “Instead of walking in happily to a meeting, I walk in to look at people who said I was doing a cover-up. I can’t work on infrastructure under these circumstances.”
There was a sign on the podium which read, “NO Collusion, NO Obstruction.”
President Trump continued from the podium, “This investigation is a one-sided, horrible thing.”
It was clear he was angry at what had just taken place previously as he lashed out at the Democrats, assembled journalist, and investigators.
He continued, “This whole thing was a take-down attempt at the president of the United States — and honestly, you ought to be ashamed of yourselves for the way you report it so dishonestly. You can’t investigate and legislate simultaneously — it just doesn’t work that way.”
Many of the Democrats took advantage of what happened this morning and turned it into their favor calling for impeachment.
Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer stated, “To watch what happened in the White House would make your jaw drop.”
Representative Dean Phillips, a Democrat from Minnesota, stated, “This meeting reflected where most of this caucus is at. Have faith in the courts and have faith in the process, and impeachment only if absolutely necessary.”
Before the meeting this morning, it was almost as if Trump knew what was coming, but he didn’t expect it as bad as it was.
He lashed out with his early morning tweets, “Democrats are getting ZERO work done in Congress and are instead focused on a continuation of a Witch Hunt.”
Another one stated, “PRESIDENTIAL HARASSMENT!”
Trump also added about the Mueller report, “After two years of an expensive and comprehensive Witch Hunt, the Democrats don’t like the result and they want a DO OVER.
In other words, the Witch Hunt continues!” On the issue of blocking the McGahn testimony, he tweeted, “He (Jerry Nadler) wants a show. He wants to use Mr. McGahn as a prop.”
Democrats have become frustrated with the refusal of cooperation from the White House on the Muller investigations. Pelosi stated they will “slap steep fines on Trump officials who ignore subpoenas.”
In order to cover up the Democrats meeting and make themselves look innocent, Schumer put out the statement, “We’re willing to work with the White House for the good of the country on anything that we can as long as we stick to our principles, which we will.
But we don’t know if they are . . . I think they can’t figure out a way to do infrastructure, and they came up with a very inelegant way to get out of it.”
This afternoon, a reporter asked Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnel, a Republican from Kentucky, if the morning’s events ended other agendas besides the infrastructure deal.
He smiled and paused and walked away without a word as if to say, they will bury themselves.
The President had every right to react the way he did, and so do the American people who are tired and fed up with these childish games.
