Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter has been met with a significant amount of press. How dare he just take over the social media platform? Many felt as though there was nothing wrong with the platform and, therefore, no changes needed to be made.

Musk, however, felt differently. And he’s boasted that he’s making Twitter fair – and he knows that it’s happening because the extremists on the far left and the far right are equally upset about the changes.

But…what changes are we about to see on Twitter? Buckle up. There are a lot of them.

1. Hate speech is dropping. Musk has vowed that @TwitterSafety will be publishing data weekly to show how hate speech impressions are dropping. He believes that people would rather see positivity than negativity – and that is a good thing for everyone.

2. Spam and scam accounts are being deleted. We’ve known that there have been bots on Twitter for a long time. Now, Twitter is working to get rid of them. If you see a drop in your followers (or the followers of any celebrity), you’ll know why.

3. More transparency. Twitter is focusing on promoting and protecting the public conversation. They’re going back to the original mission of the platform: to be a town square of the internet. They are changing the way in which they experiment – to public testing. As Twitter’s blog shared, “We believe that this open and transparent approach to innovation is healthy, as it enables us to move faster and gather user feedback in real-time.”

4. More polls. In case you haven’t noticed, Elon Musk is conducting a LOT of polls. And it goes far beyond whether former President Trump should be reinstated on the platform. He wants to get insight into all sorts of things.

5. Higher user engagement. In addition to Musk asking people about what they think about some of the new changes, he’s also inviting people to send screenshots of things that they want to see fixed inside of Twitter.

We’re clearly seeing a new Twitter. It’s all about being fair to both sides of the political party. And according to Musk, more and more advertisers are back on the platform.

Sure, there are always going to be those on the left who complain about Musk because he used to be a Democrat and is now a Republican. He calls people out on their crap unapologetically, and that’s not something the liberals like.

If they leave Twitter, bye.

The changes are clearly for the better, don’t you think?
