Hollywood Can't Sell Tickets Anymore So Adam Schiff Wants YOU to Bail Them Out

Hollywood spent the last decade calling you a deplorable, a racist, a fascist, and a threat to democracy. Now they want you to pay their bills. And California Senator Adam Schiff is leading the charge to make it happen with a federal film production tax credit funded by your tax dollars.

The entertainment industry that has ruled Los Angeles for roughly 100 years is hemorrhaging productions to other states and countries that offer lower costs and more generous incentives. Turns out when you make everything unwatchable, people stop watching — and the money follows. Who could have predicted this? Oh right. We all did.

Schiff told Variety he believes "we have a lot of our influence around the world as a result of American film and TV" and that "in order to save this industry in America, we need to be competitive with tax credits." Save the industry. Let that sink in. The same industry that produced record-breaking profits for decades while sneering at Middle America now needs to be "saved" — by Middle America's wallet.

Variety's Gene Maddaus laid out the problem plainly: "Everything costs more in L.A., starting with labor, due to the high cost of living and elaborate union agreements." So Hollywood's own progressive policies — sky-high cost of living, rigid union rules, California's legendary regulatory burden — made it too expensive to do business there. And their solution isn't to fix any of that. Their solution is to have the federal government write them a check.

Schiff reportedly said he had "largely drafted" a bill back in March and was looking for bipartisan support. Bipartisan. He wants Republicans to co-sign a bailout for an industry that boycotts conservative states, blacklists conservative actors, and produces content designed to lecture half the country about how terrible they are.

This is the same Adam Schiff who spent four years peddling the Russia collusion hoax on every cable news show that would have him. The same guy who looked into a camera and said he had direct evidence of Trump-Russia conspiracy — evidence that never materialized because it never existed. And now he wants us to trust him with a blank check for his Hollywood donors.

Former Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell summed it up perfectly on X: "Hard NO to anything Schiff supports." Short. Sweet. Correct.

Let's be honest about what's actually happening here. Hollywood made a choice. They chose woke storylines over good ones. They chose lectures over entertainment. They chose to alienate the largest moviegoing demographic in America — normal people who just want to watch something fun on a Friday night. And the market responded exactly the way markets do. People stopped buying.

Now instead of making better content, they want a government subsidy. Instead of telling stories Americans actually want to hear, they want taxpayers to underwrite the next unwatchable three-hour sermon about climate justice starring someone who hates you.

The same industry that would rather film in Canada or Georgia when it suits their bottom line suddenly needs federal help staying in Los Angeles. The same crowd that boycotted Georgia over voting laws now wants Georgia voters to subsidize their failing business model.

Here's a free piece of advice for Hollywood, and it won't cost the taxpayers a dime: make something people want to watch. Problem solved.
