Because what were they going to say? "No you're not"? Please. These people know who signs the checks.

Trump dominated the summit from the moment he arrived, asserting American authority on Iran, Ukraine, immigration, and trade while the assembled leaders of France, Germany, Italy, Canada, and Britain nodded along like they were in orientation at a new job. French President Emmanuel Macron hosted. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni attended. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz was there. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer showed up. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney flew in. None of them challenged the man.

Merz actually opened his remarks with: "Happy belated 80th birthday, President Trump. After all, we're on the same team." That's the Chancellor of Germany — the country that used to lecture us about diplomacy — buttering up our president like a junior associate trying to impress the managing partner.

Then there was the Zelensky moment. Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky showed up at the summit, and Trump casually told him: "Would you like to stay for the meeting? It's OK with me." Like a CEO deciding whether the intern can sit in on the board meeting. The man who spent years demanding more weapons just got offered a chair like it was a courtesy, not a right.

On Iran, Trump secured a joint G7 statement supporting the peace deal, with a memorandum of understanding set to be signed Friday. The agreement focuses on reopening the Strait of Hormuz — one of the most critical shipping lanes on Earth. Trump's take on the other leaders coming around? "I think they think I was right." Of course they do. They always come around eventually.

And just in case anyone got too comfortable, Trump added a warning about Iran: "If they don't behave, we'll go right back to dropping bombs." Diplomacy with a spine. Imagine that.

Canada's Mark Carney — who openly despise President Trump and conservative policies — admitted publicly that "there has been a change in position on the part of the US." Translation: we stopped being pushovers and they noticed.

Trump also claimed he "ended eight wars." You can fact-check that all day if you want — but the point isn't the exact number. The point is that the man walks into a room of world leaders and speaks like someone who actually accomplished things, not someone reading off a teleprompter while wondering what's for dessert.

The G7 also produced a joint declaration on illegal immigration — something that would have been unthinkable under Biden, who could barely produce a joint declaration on what day it was.

The discussion even touched on the Lebanon ceasefire and Hezbollah disarmament. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined as a guest. European Council President Antonio Costa was present. And through all of it, Trump ran the room.

Remember when Biden wandered off at the G7 in Italy and Meloni had to redirect him like a preschool teacher? Now we have a president who tells the room "I'm the boss" and the room agrees. That's not arrogance. That's what American leadership looks like when you actually have a leader.
